Free screenings in run-up to Marathon

Newton-Wellesley Hospital is offering several free injury screenings for runners preparing for this year’s Boston Marathon as part of its Running Strong series of lectures and other events. The assessments will be done by a physical therapist at the hospital’s Ambulatory Care Center at 159 Wells Ave., and runners dealing with an injury that may interfere with their training will be given treatment recommendations. The screenings will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, and on March 10 and March 12. Appointments are required, and can be made by e-mailing carefinder@partners.org or by calling 617-243-6383. More information is available online at www.nwh.org/events/runningstrong.
