Learn about New England’s stone walls

On Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Gleason Public Library, Kevin Garner, author of “The Granite Kiss,” will give a presentation on the history, technique, stylistic development, and aesthetics of New England’s stone walls. He will discuss how and why the region came to have its thousands of miles of stone walls, the ways in which they and other dry stone structures were built, how their styles emerged and changed over time, and their significance to the New England landscape. The free talk is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Gleason Public Library and the town’s Conservation Foundation. Call 978-369-4898 to reserve a seat.
