Shining light on solar savings

Stow resident Greg Ames got a $1,800 discount on his home solar panels, the result of a townwide push to lower the cost of solar installations through group purchases. The goal of the Stow Energy Working Group is to go far beyond this level of savings. Only nine residents participated in a recent comprehensive solar buy, organizers said; they are aiming to build the town clientele of solar buyers up to at least 40, drastically increasing discounts. The program, called the Stow Solar Challenge, continues until the end of April.
