The Bedford Free Public Library on Mudge Way will host a free presentation by Jessica Bethoney, a Bunker Hill Community College professor of American culture and cross-cultural studies, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. In “Parenting in America: A Cross-Cultural View,” Bethoney will offer an overview of the central values that have shaped key American institutions, such as the family and education. The goal is a better understanding of why the current generation of children growing up in America may be caught between two worlds, and how to meet these challenges.
