Less than two weeks after becoming the first American men’s sabre fencer to win a World Championship title, Sherborn teen Eli Dershwitz returned to the medal podium Monday in Santiago, Chile.
The Harvard University freshman defended his Pan American title and won the individual gold medal for the second year in a row, rallying to defeat teammate Daryl Homer, 15-13. The Dover-Sherborn graduate has trained at Zeta Fencing in Natick for 10 years. Zoran Tulum, head coach at Zeta, is the US Men’s Sabre team coach.
