Behavioral health treatment center set to go in at Devens

A Winchester company specializing in behavioral health care has purchased 7.5 acres of land from MassDevelopment at 85 Patton Road in Devens and plans to build a 104-bed treatment center there.

Health Partners New England and GFI Partners will construct a 75,000-square-foot facility that will provide short-term inpatient care to patients with psychiatric and substance abuse problems, according to MassDevelopment.

Health Partners New England estimates the Health Partners Treatment and Recovery Center will create more than 200 jobs when it opens in the fall of 2016.

Dr. Michael Krupa, the founder of Health Partners New England, said the site is an “ideal location’’ because of its proximity to Central Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire and northwestern Middlesex County.
