Wayland resident earns award for outstanding citizenship

The Wayland Public Ceremonies Committee has named Anne Becker, leader of the Wayland chapter of the Neighbor Brigade, as the recipient of the 2017 Lydia Maria Child Award for outstanding citizenship.

The Neighbor Brigade is a nonprofit organization of volunteers that helps neighbors during times of crisis. Neighbor Brigade volunteers collaborate to provide non-medical and non-monetary services to help fellow residents.

The Neighbor Brigade also sponsors the annual Pam’s Run, a road race and walk to raise funds in memory of lifelong Wayland resident Pam Washek. The Fifth Annual Pam’s Run will be held Sunday, Oct. 15.
