The Brookline Commission for the Arts and the members of the Brookline Poet Laureate Selection Committee have selected Zvi A. Sesling to be the town’s third poet laureate. A former selectman and Town Meeting member, Sesling is the author of two volumes of poetry, “King of the Jungle” and “Fire Tongue.” Sesling plans to bring diverse and accessible poetry to the Brookline schools and to the senior center. He will also hold “open door evenings” during which Brookline residents can meet with him to discuss poetry. Sesling will be introduced at a “Changing of the Bard” gathering on Thursday, May 11, at 7 p.m. at Brookline Village Library, Hunneman Hall. He will be joined by previous Brookline poet laureates Jan Schreiber and Judith Steinbergh to read the works of New England poets.
