Watertown to hold meeting on Arsenal Park design

Watertown’s Department of Community Development and Planning is holding the first meeting this month on the potential redesign of some parts of Arsenal Park. Officials are particularly interested in discussion of the eastern section of the park, which is directly behind the current Arsenal Mall and includes tennis courts, basketball courts, and other athletic facilities, according to the meeting notice. Last year, developer Boylston Properties unveiled a redesign of the adjacent mall, which the builder said would also improve access to the park. “Anyone interested in learning more about Arsenal Park and in sharing ideas about how the park should be designed and used is encouraged to come to the first meeting to kick off the process,” officials said in a statement posted to the Watertown website. The meeting is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. at the Watertown Library’s Watertown Savings Bank Room on Aug. 15. For more information, go to www.ci.watertown.ma.us.
