Lexington league invites speaker from ACLU

Carol Rose, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts and a Lexington resident, will be guest speaker at the Lexington League of Women Voters annual meeting. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Lexington Community Center Dining Room, 39 Marrett Road, Lexington. Rose will speak after the business meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. Prior to leading the ACLU of Massachusetts in 2003, Rose was an attorney for the Boston law firm of Hill & Barlow, where she specialized in First Amendment and media law, intellectual property, civil rights, and international human rights law. She clerked for US District Judge Patti Saris. She holds degrees from Stanford University, the London School of Economics, and Harvard Law School.
