Medway program on tackling adolescent anxiety Oct. 11

Medway THRIVE, will hold a free program focused on adolescent emotional wellness Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. in the Medway High School auditorium. THRIVE is an organization that provides wellness-related programming and resources to families. Its name is an acronym for tools to foster health, resiliency, inclusiveness, vitality, and empowerment in Medway’s youth. The organization will host at least five parent enrichment programs in the year ahead. The Oct. 11 event will feature a personal story from a young adult who faced adversity and dealt with anxiety; organizers note that, according to the results of the 2016 MetroWest Adolescent Health Survey, nearly 50 percent of Medway middle and high school students report experiencing mild to severe symptoms of anxiety.
