Maynard is seeking residents to serve on a new steering committee that will draft a master plan for the town, a broad blueprint focusing on key topics such as housing, land use, open space, economics, and traffic. The Board of Selectmen and Planning Board will select the members. Town Administrator Kevin Sweet said this is an opportunity for residents to be a part of “preparing Maynard for a successful path forward in the 21st century.’’ The planning process will be led by a consultant and is expected to take between 18 months and two years to complete. This is the town’s first master planning effort since 1990. Residents interested in serving can send a letter of interest to Sweet’s office at firstname.lastname@example.org by Nov. 15.Jennifer Fenn Lefferts can be reached at email@example.com.
