Competing for the Team USA national fencing team in the 50-59 age group at the Veteran World Championships in Slovenia, the 50-year-old Carter earned a silver individually in foil and a gold in the team event.
A senior forward on the Worcester State men’s hockey team, he netted four goals in wins over Franklin Pierce and Plymouth State. He was the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
The first-year swimmer for WPI won the 200-yard butterfly and 1,000- and 500-yard freestyle races in a 171-129 win over RPI. A day earlier, he won the 200- butterfly in a sweep of Babson and Brandeis. He was NEWMAC Swimmer of the Week.
