Natick oficials to discuss design options for South Main Street

The Natick Board of Selectmen and Transportation Advisory Committee will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 7 p.m. in the Lebowitz Room at the Morse Institute Library to discuss design options for South Main Street (Route 27) from Cottage Street to the Sherborn line.

The town is exploring design options to balance the needs of people traveling by motor vehicle, on foot, and by bicycle, as well as those living along South Main Street. Options include maintaining the existing roadway footprint and reconstructing sidewalks, widening and reconstructing the roadway with a 10-foot-wide shared-use path on the west side and a 5-foot-sidewalk on the east side, and widening the roadway with shoulders and new sidewalks on both sides. The options will be available for review at 6 p.m. and are online at www.natickma.gov/tac and at the Department of Public Works. Town staff and the project engineering team will attend and be on hand for questions.
