Newton to host recovery drop-in night Dec. 7

A regional group that tries to connect people battling addiction with treatment services will host an informational drop-in Recovery Resource Night on Thursday, Dec. 7, in Newton. Metro-Boston Project Outreach, a group of local communities that work to connect people to treatment and recovery support resources, is holding the free session at Our Lady’s Church at 573 Washington St., Newton, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event is open to anyone seeking help for themselves or a loved one.“The idea is that there will be multiple recovery organizations there for people to engage in one-to-one conversations to learn more about what is available,” said Deborah C. Youngblood, Newton’s commissioner of health and human services.Newton’s social services director will also be available Thursday to provide guidance, she said.
