The first-year athlete at Bentley was named Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Track Rookie of the Week after placing third in the long jump, sixth in the 55-meter hurdles, and running for a 4x400 relay team that finished second in a Jan. 20 meet at Brandeis.

With 7.3 seconds remaining Jan. 17 and WPI trailing Emerson, 73-72, the senior point guard hit with the game-winning jumper. Rodgers added 21 points and six assists against Clark Jan. 20 to lead WPI to its fourth consecutive win.

WALTHAM

In her 32d season at Bentley (18-1) and 41st as a head coach, the Waltham resident became the fifth women’s basketball coach to notch 1,000 career victories with a 78-66 win over Adelphi Jan. 17.
