A woman shopping with her 4-year-old daughter was carjacked in the parking lot of a Providence supermarket. Police said the man jumped into the passenger seat of the family’s car outside the Aldi Market on Smith Street around 4 p.m. Tuesday. He demanded money, the woman’s purse, and her cellphone, and then dragged her from the vehicle. Police said she was able to get her daughter out of the back seat before the man took off in the car. No arrests have been made. Police say they are looking for a tan 2001 Toyota Corolla with Rhode Island tags.
