MONTPELIER, Vt. — Officials say Vermont Governor Phil Scott is exploring whether the state should institute a ban on the sale of vaping products.
The Bennington Banner reports Scott is considering similar steps to the ones taken in New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Scott’s communication director Rebecca Kelley says he is ‘‘concerned’’ about the health impact of vaping products on young people in Vermont.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo proposed a ban on the sale of flavored electronic cigarettes Sept. 15. On Tuesday, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker ordered a four-month ban on the sale of all vaping products in retail stores and online. Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo signed an executive order banning the sale of flavored electronic nicotine-delivery system products on Wednesday.
