A man accused of assaulting a Brown University basketball player from Norwood, Mass., has waived extradition from Connecticut and is headed to Providence. Tory Lussier was taken into custody Wednesday at his home in Vernon on a felony arrest warrant. Providence police said Lussier, 25, is expected to be returned on Friday for an appearance in Providence District Court. A spokesman for Rhode Island Hospital said Wednesday that Joseph Sharkey, 21, was in critical condition.
