Ron Klain has been tasked by President Obama to oversee the US response to the Ebola outbreak.
Klain, a lawyer, is a former chief of staff to Vice President Joe Biden, served as chief of staff for Vice President Al Gore, and was a key figure during the 2000 Florida presidential election recount. He previously served under Attorney General Janet Reno in the Clinton administration.
Klein is President of Case Holdings and General Counsel at Revolution LLC, a technology venture capital firm based in Washington, DC.
According to a bio on the website for Revolution LLC, Klein was portrayed by Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey in the HBO film about the 2000 presidential election, "Recount."

Klain also has a Juris Doctor (JD) from Harvard Law School, where he was editor of the Harvard Law Review, according to Revolution's website. He also serves as a member of the Board of Visitors at Harvard Law.
