BOSTON (AP) — Democratic state Auditor Suzanne Bump is drawing a Republican challenger as she faces re-election.
Norfolk resident Patricia Saint Aubin said the auditor’s job isn’t to justify state spending but to hold state agencies accountable to make sure they work efficiently.
Aubin grew up in South Dartmouth and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Providence College in 1980 and a master’s degree in American history in 2009.
She’s worked at Shawmut Bank in Boston, John Hancock Life Insurance Company, Connecticut Mutual Life, Massachusetts Mutual Life and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Aubin has served on the Norfolk Republican Town Committee for 17 years and has been a competitive swimmer since age 6, recently finishing fourth in a national competition in a race that involved completing 33 laps in a pool without stopping.
