New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, eyeing a White House bid in 2016, plans to raise money in Boston later this month.
The fundraiser, fetching $5,000 for “co-hosts” and $2,500 for “sponsors,” is scheduled for April 23 at Fiore in the North End, according to a copy of the invitation to the event.
Richard Tisei — the former state Senate minority leader, lieutenant governor nominee, and 2014 candidate for the US House — is among the hosts of the event, which will raise money for Christie’s Leadership Matters for America political action committee. Other hosts include Dave Tamasi, a Washington lobbyist for the Rasky Baerlein public affairs firm, and Chris Vincze, CEO of TRC, an environmental consulting firm based in Lowell.

Invitees are asked to RSVP to the firm run by Steve Roche, who was national finance director for Restore Our Future, the super PAC that backed former governor Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign.
Romney’s political and fundraising networks are among the sought-after prizes of the 2016 primary season. Former Florida governor Jeb Bush has a Massachusetts fundraiser scheduled next week, and has been accruing support from former Romney backers.
Christie has been a staunch political ally of Governor Charlie Baker, helping steer Republican Governors Association funds to Massachusetts during Baker’s campaign last year. But Baker has professed neutrality in the 2016 primary.
The New Jersey Republican was on hand for Baker’s inauguration in January, alongside Romney.
