What are the president’s thoughts on pairing peas with guacamole?
If you were checking Twitter Wednesday afternoon, you may have seen President Obama answering that question and several others during a chat around the hashtag #AskPOTUS.
President Obama took questions for just under an hour on the social media service from Nashville, where he was visiting to promote the Affordable Care Act.
Obama mainly answered questions that focused around the health care law, responding to one user who asked about premium hikes:
not true - like last year, insurers request premium hikes, but must be approved; expect final increases to be less https://t.co/WfJI2AOLkP

He also addressed fines under the law for those who go without insurance, and gave advice for aspiring politicians.

there's a hardship exemption; fine only applies to folks who can afford insurance but choose not to. https://t.co/XWFEKbZCaT

have principles and issues you are passionate about, and act; worry more about doing something than being something. https://t.co/QqbgflhXDY

The president also took some offbeat questions, responding to one user who asked for his opinion on a recent New York Times recipe that incorporates peas into guacamole...
respect the nyt, but not buying peas in guac. onions, garlic, hot peppers. classic. https://t.co/MEEI8QHH1V

...and another who asked about his musical preferences.

Sadly, the president didn’t RickRoll anybody, as Boston Mayor Marty Walsh did in a Twitter chat last month.
