Of course, Steve Wynn knows Donald Trump, the casino mogul and GOP front-runner for president.
The two go way back, having run gambling palaces in Atlantic City. Put it another way, Wynn said he’s known the Donald “through three wives I think.”
For those who have stopped counting, that’s Ivana, Marla, and now Melania.
Wynn, in a press conference Tuesday showing off a new model for his $2 billion Everett casino, made clear he’s fed up with the current political season and described it as “such baloney.”
“The presidential campaign on the Democratic and Republican side is totally mystifying to me at the moment,” said the 74-year-old Las Vegas billionaire. “I never thought I’d see anything like this, did you?”
Through the years, Wynn has supported candidates from both parties, but he’s unhappy with this year’s crop of White House hopefuls. In particular, Wynn said he doesn’t think anyone is serious about reducing the deficit.
“The deficit is destroying the living standard of working people in America,” said Wynn. “I’ve heard a lot of fancy political rhetoric, but I haven’t heard anybody deal with the problem at a granular, at a real level, that matters.”
