Senator Bernie Sanders was quick to invoke the name of Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts when asked about potential female running mates on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Tuesday.
“I think it’s a little bit early to be speculating on that,” he said after first being asked if he would commit to picking a woman as his running mate.
But when pressed by MSNBC’s Mark Halperin about women he thought would be qualified for the job, Sanders praised Warren’s politics.
“[She] has been a real champion in standing up for working families and taking on Wall Street,” he said.
But, he added, “there are other fantastic women, who have been active in all kinds of fights, that I think would make great vice presidential candidates.”
