Dr. Jill Stein, a member of the Massachusetts Green-Rainbow Party running on the national ballot for president, had a message for Bernie Sanders supporters facing the end of their candidate’s campaign:

“[T]here’s a plan B here to continue to fight that revolution.”

In an interview Tuesday with CNN, Stein urged the Vermont senator’s fans not to give up and said that she viewed Sanders as a fellow revolutionary. She added that many of Sanders’ supporters might back her if Hillary Clinton does indeed become the Democratic presidential nominee.

“We are here in the event that they feel like they don’t have a place to go,” Stein told CNN.

As Tuesday’s primary results all but ended Sanders’ chances of getting to the White House in this year’s election, the Lexington physician reextended her offer to Sanders to collaborate:

She also commented on Twitter about both parties’ presumptive nominees. On Donald Trump, she wrote that “ignorant bigots shouldn’t run our country,” and she called Clinton a “war hawk.”

Stein was the Green Party’s presidential nominee in 2012. She also ran as a third-party candidate in 2002’s gubernatorial race in Massachusetts, winning about 3 percent of the vote.
