Stop us if you’ve heard this one before.
US Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump have once again engaged in a battle of tweets.
This round appeared to kick off with Warren taking Trump and his running mate, Governor Mike Pence of Indiana, to task for being divisive and weak:
Trump responded, as he is wont to do, by suggesting Warren, whom he labeled “goofy,” is a fraud and an unproductive senator:
Goofy Elizabeth Warren, who may be the least productive Senator in the U.S. Senate, must prove she is not a fraud. Without the con it's over— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 17, 2016
I hope that Crooked Hillary picks Goofy Elizabeth Warren, sometimes referred to as Pocahontas, as her V.P. Then we can litigate her fraud!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 17, 2016
If Goofy Elizabeth Warren, a very weak Senator, didn't lie about her heritage (being Native American) she would be nothing today. Pick her H— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 17, 2016
Warren responded by tweeting screengrabs of coverage of different fraud cases involving Trump:
It’s not the first time Warren has referred to Trump as a “thin-skinned bully,” and it probably won’t be the last.
