Should Massachusetts expand charter schools? That’s the question before voters this November, and the question at the center of a live debate co-hosted by The Boston Globe, WBUR, and the University of Massachusetts Boston this afternoon.

The forum, which will be held at UMass Boston’s McCormack Theatre, is the first of four weekly debates focused on ballot questions going before voters this fall.

Former state representative Marty Walz, currently head of Marty Walz and Associates, will speak in favor of Question 2, while Boston City Councilor Tito Jackson will speak in opposition.

The debate will be moderated by WBUR host Meghna Chakrabarti and Globe reporter David Scharfenberg.

You can live-stream the debate here or listen live on WBUR beginning at 3 p.m.

Debates over the remaining three ballot questions on the treatment of farm animals, marijuana legalization, and an additional slots parlor will be held over the next three weeks.
