Days after Charlottesville violence, Trump retweets meme of ‘CNN’ being run over
Just days after a man attending a white supremacist rally allegedly rammed a car into a crowd of protesters, killing one, President Trump retweeted a meme depicting a train running over a figure labeled “CNN.”
Trump retweeted the image from a follower around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning, but took down the retweet several minutes later.
The image depicts a red and blue train labelled “Trump” crashing into a person in a suit whose face is covered by the CNN logo.
Trump immediately drew criticism on Twitter for sharing the violent image in the wake of the Charlottesville attack.
The president also retweeted a user who appeared to call him a fascist, but took it down a short time later.
