Hillary Clinton jokes that she’s going to dress up as president for Halloween

During a book tour event in Chicago on Monday, Hillary Clinton delighted her audience when she joked that she might dress up as the president for Halloween.

Clinton was speaking at the Auditorium Theatre when she was asked onstage, “What are you going to be for Halloween?”

Clinton laughed, apparently surprised by the question.

“I have to start thinking about it, don’t I? Tomorrow is Halloween.”

When the interviewer pressed, Clinton had an answer to supply: “I think I will maybe come as the president,” she declared, to cheers and applause from those in attendance.

However, Donald Trump Jr. clapped back shortly afterwards on Twitter: “That’s cute. She can borrow my [Donald Trump] mask.”

Clinton’s book promotion event came on a day that saw the first criminal charges in the investigation of President Trump’s campaign: Former campaign chief Paul Manafort was indicted on money-laundering charges, while news separately broke that former campaign aide George Papadopoulos had pleaded guilty to lying to FBI agents about his contacts with Russians. Congressional Republicans, meanwhile, have been resolute, insisting they will not be blown off course in their quest for tax cuts.
