First lady Melania Trump was greeted with a standing ovation Tuesday night when she entered the House chamber ahead of President Trump’s State of the Union address to the nation.
Wearing a cream-colored Christian Dior pantsuit, the first lady waved to the crowd as she received applause, and could be seen speaking with special guest Albuquerque Police Officer Ryan Holets in the gallery before the speech began.
Her pantsuit was paired with a white Dolce & Gabbana blouse and Christian Louboutin pumps, according to the Associated Press.
Melania Trump traveled to Capitol Hill separately from her husband Tuesday night, instead traveling with a group of guests who will be featured in Trump’s address.
She had not been seen publicly with her husband since earlier this month, when the Wall Street Journal reported that porn star Stormy Daniels was paid $130,000 prior to the election in 2016, to keep quiet about an alleged affair she had with the president about a decade ago.
The White House later said that she did ride home in the same car as Trump.
In his address, Trump began by acknowledging congressional leaders and the first lady, a statement to which Melania Trump did not appear to react.
