As viewers across the country watched President Trump’s first State of the Union address Tuesday, cameras captured telling images of lawmakers and Supreme Court justices in the House chamber — some looking bored, others looking downright distraught.
Here are just a few:

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer
Seated in between Supreme Court justices John Roberts and Elena Kagan — who are looking relatively neutral in this photo — Stephen Breyer seemed distressed about something Trump said.

Representatives Steny Hoyer (Maryland) and Nancy Pelosi (California)

Senators Tim Kaine (Virginia) and Ed Markey (Massachusetts)
Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Bernie Sanders of Vermont, and Bill Nelson of Florida, also make appearances in this photo, but Kaine and Markey win the awards for most bored looks.

Senator Bernie Sanders (Vermont)
Sanders isn’t a Democrat, but he makes a special appearance here for his own reaction during Trump’s address.
And again in this photo, where he appears to remain seated while other senators around him stand and applaud.
