‘Boston Strong’ sorely misused as a sports team’s rallying cry

I am offended by the slogan “Boston Strong” being used by the Boston Red Sox. I thought this slogan was to rally the people and city of Boston together in light of the terrible bombings there in April. People were maimed and killed there. The Boston Bruins did use the phrase minimally during the Stanley Cup Finals. That was at the time of the bombings and, in my opinion, acceptable. I didn’t know it was a general slogan, used to help get a sports team pumped for the World Series. It is downright disgusting.
