How could you encourage such mockery of people of faith?

Was it really necessary to print three letters to the editor Wednesday decrying Jennifer Graham’s Oct. 21 op-ed “Blasphemy is the new ‘wow’ ”? What happened to sensitivity to the beliefs of others? Yet you encourage such blatant disrespect to the beliefs of at least three mainstream religions.

That atheists and agnostics see no reason to respect God’s name is plain, but others do hold his name holy and are offended by the constant barrage of “OMG” and “Oh my God” that flows so freely today. Why does this inspire such vitriol and mockery? And why does the Globe seem to encourage it?
