letters: Gambling options near and far

To a commuter’s eye, much to fear from a Suffolk Downs casino

I drive by Suffolk Downs twice a day commuting to and from work in Cambridge. I’m strongly against the Suffolk Downs casino, primarily for fear of worsening an already congested traffic situation. But in addition, I empathize with the residents of East Boston. Bringing a casino to Suffolk Downs would take the act of gambling and inject steroids into it.

Would you want your kids raised adjacent to a steroid-infused gambling center? I wouldn’t.
