Hamas victory? A Pyrrhic one, maybe

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh’s Orwellian rant from a pile of rubble about how this latest conflict with Israel was a victory for Hamas would have been laughable if it weren’t so sad for the Palestinians in Gaza who may still have aspirations for a better life lived in peace.

Israel paid dearly for the present quiet on its border, and may have only kicked the next conflict with Hamas down the road. But if this was a victory for Hamas, I would hate to see what defeat looks like.
