Regarding the Globe’s editorial on Mayor Menino's letter to Chick-fil-A (“Boston shouldn’t block chain because of president’s views,” July 25): Gay marriage is not a political or religious issue (marriage is hardly the domain of the religious). It is purely a civil rights issue, and the mayor has rightly treated it as such.
