If only those ad dollars could have been put to real use

Saint Anthony of the Desert was said to have told of a time coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, “You are mad, you are not like us.”

This week brought the end of a political campaign that saw $6 billion poured into campaign ads, more than half of which failed to reach the goal of their contributors. This is madness.

I am a retired teacher, and happy to have been one for 40 years. The total political contribution made this year could have paid for the ENTIRE careers of many thousands of teachers.
