Vaunted ‘Patriot Way’ looking like a dead end for football team

Much is said about the “Patriot Way” and how it has led to years of football excellence in Foxborough.

Except for 2007, the Patriot Way seems to mean that the you sign the best quarterback in the history of the NFL, and surround him with mediocre talent where it matters most. It seems to include bargain shopping, coupled with huge profits, with the myth that incredible coaching puts the team in a position to win the lame AFC East each season.

The reality is that even the best quarterback ever cannot make up for subpar players at the wide receiver and defensive back positions.

The Patriot Way will be forever exposed when Brady hangs up his cleats. He is that good, and deserves better. So do the fans who pay exorbitant prices to attend games and support the team.

Say what you will about Red Sox ownership, but they spend money in an effort to get the best players.
