Maybe it’s time Belichick moved on

The expiration date is up, and it’s time for Bill Belichick to go. With poor personnel moves and bargain-basement player acquisitions, the New England Patriots coach has managed to fritter away the prime years of a great quarterback’s career, and it’s a shame.

The defense has not been champion caliber for years. What did the hoodied one do back when the defense was going over the hill? He shipped out of town two of the best players — Richard Seymour and Asante Samuel — who were still in their prime, leaving Vince Wilfork and little else.

And for this we call him a genius?

It’s time for a new direction while quarterback Tom Brady still has a couple of years left.
