Beset by noise from morning to night

RE “Too much airplane noise? Towns should wait and listen” (Editorial, March 23): Dedham and Milton residents have reason to fear noise from Logan Airport. Departing jets from Logan are now being routed on some days over West Roxbury, and the noise is beyond annoying despite the planes’ position at 10,000 feet.

I am often awakened at 5:30 a.m. when flights begin passing overhead at the rate of three per minute, and often there is no letup until 11 p.m. Double-paned windows, white noise machines, and earplugs are of no help, so intense is the noise and vibration.

Six and a half hours of sleep is not a healthy amount. I’m all for fuel savings, but not at the cost of general health.
