Berklee bequest a model of selfless giving

What a refreshing story about the Cambridge man who left $8.1 million to Berklee College of Music in his will (“Bequest is sweet music for Berklee,” Metro, March 22). This is on the heels of the February article “In nonprofit game, athletes post losing records,” which described how, for many pro athletes’ charities, a small percentage actually goes to the cause they sponsor.

Oliver Dyer Colvin Jr. did it with little fanfare, no attention brought to himself, and no overhead — just a hefty donation to a cause he believed in.
