Use former Rutgers coach’s pay to hire teachers

RE “RUTGERS sees no evil” (Editorial, April 5):

Here’s an idea for Rutgers, which had been paying men’s basketball coach Mike Rice $650,000 a year before his firing last week: How about using that money to hire 13 newly minted PhDs at $50,000 each, to teach 25-50 students each per week. They won’t kick the kids, call them names, or throw basketballs at them. All they will do is teach them college-level subjects.
