Could the Globe please run an article comparing Massachusetts to other states in terms of the climate for operating a business here? Perhaps the Legislature could commission a study to look at this issue (“Calls rising for paid sick days,” Page A1, April 15). The Commonwealth is already an expensive and cumbersome place to run a business. Layering additional requirements such as state-mandated paid sick days may make no sense if we are trying to encourage small businesses and job formation. We need to look at the big picture and not just focus on one new mandated benefit at a time.
