May Marathon victim’s message of peace resound

RE “PHOTO of victim Martin Richard now a symbol” (April 16): As we mourn the good people who were killed or injured at the Boston Marathon, let us not forget all the other good people who have been killed and maimed by guns and bombs. Just because these bombs may have been dropped from great heights and may not have been “intended” to kill children and maim civilians, that has all too often been the result.

In the wake of violence, innocent people are always hurt. Violence and war, whatever their source or motivation, do strike terror into someone’s heart; they do kill someone’s beloved son or daughter; they do change lives forever.

I mourn Martin Richard and stand with him: “No more hurting people. Peace.” May we all take his message to heart for the sake of all the people of the world.
