Cartoonist’s Benghazi barb is off the mark

Mike Luckovich’s May 10 editorial cartoon spoofing the congressional hearings over the attack in Benghazi, Libya, is offensive to anyone who values truth and transparency in our government. His choice of targets — the right wing — is way off the mark.

Watergate was a big deal, but no one died in that petty buglary. Did Luckovich lampoon those who sought the truth back then?

The tragic loss of American lives, and the ensuing coverup, would have made Nixon blush. Report the facts, and let the American people make up their own minds.
