No need to use insulting terms

RE THE Globe’s June 22 editorial “ We get it”:

While I have never paid attention to Kim Kardashian, I find the use of the phrase “idiot-savant-like” in describing her distasteful. I would have thought that the Globe would not only have had more important issues to comment on, but would have had more sensitivity to the individuals and their families who live with mental challenges. The use of such words or phrases in an effort to criticize or describe an individual serves no purpose in conversation or print.
