Safety concerns on Beacon Hill overshadowed by a cold case

RE “TRYING to close case on Strangler” (Page A1) and “Beacon Hill on alert” (Metro): Imagine, front-page articles in the Globe on July 12, 2013, about murders committed 50 years ago, with the suspected murderer having died almost 40 years ago. Meanwhile, on Page B1 is a story about four assaults in less than two months in Beacon Hill.

Do our legislators know how state and city resources are being allocated? Does the Globe recognize the disparity in attention (and money) in regard to solving a cold case as opposed to preventing more assaults in the area of the State House?
