Towels at Fenway sure to cause fan enthusiasm to flag

RE “THROW out the towel, Sox fans” (Op-ed, Oct. 19):

As a graduate student, I attended the final game of the 1967 World Series, and I thereby stake my claim as a long-time Red Sox fan. But if the crowds at Fenway Park take up the crazed practice of flag-waving you can be sure I will not return to the park.
