It’s not about the new or old Boston — it’s about being smart

I disagree with columnist Shirley Leung’s contention that “New Boston acts a lot like Old Boston” (“As old ways prevail, plenty to lament”). In the “New Boston,” we’re not satisfied with the public picking up the tab for something we didn’t choose, examine, vet, and debate. Another name for that is Smart Boston.
